Option 2: Managed Care Carve-in
This
option proposes to carve-in NEMT services into managed care; however, in
the Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston/Beaumont SDAs, the FRBs would
continue to provide services until contract expiration. Since NEMT
services are provided to TCIP, CSHCN, and residual fee-for-service
clients who are not served by managed care organizations, HHSC will need
a complimentary model to serve non-managed care clients. The
non-managed care transportation services may be provided by a down-sized
state operation or through a single FRB.
